New Art Workshops Starting in November

We had our first art workshop for homeschoolers in my newly renovated studio here on our farm in Wainfleet and will be starting some new art workshops for children and adults in November. We’re only a 10 minute drive from Port Colborne and Welland, and 30 minutes from St. Catharines and Niagara Falls.

After finding out that most elementary students in our Niagara Region area do not have art teachers in school, I decided to offer Saturday art classes so that school children as well as homeschoolers can now benefit from art instruction and develop their creativity and art skills. It has been proven in research studies, that children who regularly participate in art actually develop skills and do better in their academic subjects. In 2011, the CRA added the new children’s art tax deduction, so parent’s can now deduct up to $500 off their taxes for qualified art programs. I’ll be happy to provide receipts with the necessary information for the deductions.

For adults, I’ve added a new one-day workshop, Printmaking & Card Design. In this art workshop students will learn basic printmaking so they can duplicate their images for card designs and fine art prints. We’ll also cover some basic card design in watercolours, acrylic, collage & mixed media. This will be a great workshop for creating unique, personalized Christmas and holiday cards and is for all skill levels.

You’ll find more details about the art workshops and art classes on the Art Workshops page and can pre-register on the art class pre-registration form. Once you are pre-registered, you’ll reserve your place and get the details on your payment options and how to complete your registration. This ensures that there is a place for you, and their are enough students to hold a workshop before making a payment.

If you have any questions about the workshops, just complete the contact form, call or email. These details are on the Contact Wendy page.
