If you missed my prior post, for the month of January I held a photo contest. The theme for January was Dogs, since January is my dog’s birthday month!  Everyone posted their dog photos on my Facebook post, and I have had the daunting task of picking the winner.  I had no idea how hard picking winners for this photo contest would be!  Thank you to all who entered the contest – your dogs are all beautiful!  If your dog didn’t make the “winners”, “finalists” or “contenders” list, it is no reflection on your dog, but could be the clarity of the photo, or even the format, since the winner gets a free 6″x6″ original painting, and some photos didn’t crop well to a square format.  Keep in mind the photo requirements:

Photo should be a close up of the face, at the dog’s eye level, not looking down at your dog, but not so close that the nose appear bigger than it is.  Photo should have a good range of lights and darks, show the dog’s eyes and expressions and capturing his/her personality.  A little background around pet is fine, but the pet should take up approx. 3/4’s of the photo.

So I saved all submitted dog photos to a folder as they were posted, then after the deadline, Jan. 31st, I went through and chose “contenders”, then “finalists” and finally the top three.  So the winners are……

First Place – Sadie

1st Place Winner receives a free 6″x6″ original painting on canvas, or the choice of upgrading to a larger size with the price of a 6″x6″ deducted from the larger sized price.
