Open Studio class
We meet weekly on Saturday mornings from 9:30 to 11:30am
This is a week to week, ongoing class for all age levels and skill levels. Each student can learn and work on the area of art they are interested in and would like instruction and guidance to improve their skills or learn something new. We’ll often have one person working on an oil painting, while another is drawing or learning watercolour. This is a great class to try out or if you are visiting and not able to commit to a series of classes, although we have some students who have been attending weekly for years!

Color Workshop
Sat. March 9 and Sat. March 16 from 9:30 – noon
Have you ever been frustrated trying to mix the right colour in your painting or trying to re-mix a colour you mixed that you just can’t seem to get right?
Whether you’ve learned colour theory and are an experienced painter or you’re a beginner, you’ll learn things about colour in this workshop you never knew, or will learn it in a different way that makes sense! Colour is one of the elements of art that can dramatically impact the mood, emotion, composition, dynamics and feelings evoked in your paintings.
Develop and improve your use of colour, and bring more joy and satisfaction into your painting. No matter your preferred medium and level of experience, you’ll benefit from this colour workshop. We’ll be applying what is learned, and helping you develop your own unique colour palette.
Since we’ll be covering a lot of information and applying what we learn, this workshop will be in two sessions. Sat. March 9 and Sat. March 16 from 9:30 – noon at Wendy Malowany Art Studio. All materials are included, however, if you have favourite materials that you like to use and would prefer to bring so you can apply what you learn with them, you are welcome to do so (no oil paint solvents please, Wendy has odourless alternatives if you prefer using oils)
class fee including all materials and taxes is only $70 for this two-session class! (Mature, attentive children ages 12 and up may attend this adult workshop)
NOTE: Wendy has studio cats, so if you have severe allergies, you may not be able to attend.
