You can have a Paint Party here at Wendy’s studio on our beautiful 8 acre hobby farm, or Wendy can come to your location. Kids and adults – no experience required!  Wendy walks you through the painting demonstrating step-by-step, but allowing you to add your own creativity too. A creative way to get together to relax and have fun.

Ticket price includes your canvas and all materials you need to create your own masterpiece!  We provide aprons, and bring everything, including tablecloths, if coming to your location.

Saturday Art Classes – Meet in 5 weekly sessions throughout the year except for holidays and summer. Students will learn the basics and gain experience in drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture and some art history.  Great for both beginning students and advanced students who want to work with a variety of media or concentrate on one particular media. Class sizes are kept small for individual attention which allows each student to concentrate of different media or techniques, if desired.  age 9 – Adult

PA Day, March Break & Summer Art Camp  – Art Camps run one day for PA Days and 5 days for March Break and Summer. Students will learn the basics and gain experience in drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture. Children art camp & art workshops include all materials and supplies. Age 7 and up.

Painting Workshops– One-Day, Two-Day and Weekly Workshops – Whichever media of paint you like to work in or would like to learn:  oil, water mixable oil, acrylic or watercolour.  You’ll learn the basics, develop new skills and/or learn new techniques. Workshops include most supplies and are for all skill levels. Adult and ages 9 and up.

Private & Semi-Private Art Lessons & Art Workshops – You can book an art workshop for you or a small, semi-private group.  Rate is $30/hr. for 1-4 students, 5 or more students, $7.50/hr. per child/., $10/hr. per adult. Some workshops include all or some materials, or a nominal materials fee may be added, depending on the workshop.

We also offer one-day art workshops for small groups: birthday parties, scouts, girl guides, 8th grade graduations, Ladies Art Night/Afternoon Out, bridal parties, Reunions and more!

Most of Wendy’s art classes and art workshops have between 5 and 12 students attending, so students get individual attention. Please register for the class(es) you, or your child, would like to attend to reserve your spot, as classes can fill up fast. The best way is to complete the Registration form , or you can call 905.899.4429.  This ensures a place is available before you make a payment.

Art Workshops for Children:

Art Classes on on Saturday mornings and special Art Workshops are held during public school holidays, such as March Break and Art Summer Camp.  We also have daytime Art workshops for homeschoolers and have Art Birthday Parties.

All children workshops include materials and supplies, although children are welcome to bring some of their favourite art materials if they wish. Most workshops are 4-8 two hour sessions meeting weekly, but we also will have some one-day workshops and consecutive day workshops through the summer and school holidays.

In all workshops, we”ll be looking at artists’ work in history through contemporary as a basis for understanding and inspiration.

Child/Adult Workshops – Parents, grandparents or another adult family member can learn along with their child.  Family discount applies to each additional family member.

Art Workshops for Adults:

Not all adult workshops include materials and supplies, however if the workshop you are interested in does not include materials, a workshop kit with all the necessary supplies can be purchased; or individual supplies you do not already have, can be purchased.  We get our art supplies in volume so can offer art supplies at an excellent price. This way if you already have the supplies, your all set, and if you don’t have everything, you’re only purchasing what you need.

Some of Our Art Workshop Topics:

Art Studio Workshop – this is a great overview workshop to learn the basics and gain some experience in drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture.  Great for both beginning students and students who want to work with a variety of media.

Printmaking Workshop – learn basic and more advanced printmaking techniques.  Create Linocuts, Woodcuts, collographs.  May also learn some basic etching and silkscreen printmaking in advanced workshops.

Drawing Workshop – Drawing is the foundation of most artwork. Beginning students will cat-pencil-drawinglearn the fundamentals necessary to draw well and advanced students will learn more advanced skills.  All students will explore a variety of drawing materials such as: graphite, charcoal, conte, colored pencils, pen & ink, water soluble pencils, etc.

Painting Workshop – Beginning students will learn about color mixing, value, composition and basic painting techniques.  Advanced students will develop greater skills and explore more advanced painting techniques. All students will explore a variety of painting materials such as: acrylic, water soluble oil paint, watercolour, oil pastel, chalk pastel and mixed media.

Mixed Media & Collage Workshop – Beginning students will learn about composition, basic collage, drawing & painting techniques.  Advanced students will develop greater skills and explore more advanced techniques. All students will explore a variety of materials such as: collage, acrylic, water soluble oil paint, watercolour, encaustics, oil pastel, chalk pastel and other mixed media.

Sculpture Workshop – Beginning students will learn the fundamentals of 3-D design. All students will explore a variety of materials and techniques in sculpture such as: wood, assemblage, clay, plaster, paper mache clay, etc.

Sculpture & Ceramic Workshop – Beginning students will learn the fundamentals of 3-D design. All students will explore a variety of materials and techniques in sculpture such as: wood, assemblage, clay, plaster, paper mache clay, etc.  Students will learn basic hand-building techniques in clay and how to throw a pot.

Hands-On Art History Workshop – Although we’ look at art work throughout history in all workshops for understanding, ideas and inspiration, in this workshop, students will learn in more depth about artists throughout history and create original artwork inspired by famous works.  Some of the artists and periods: Expressionism, Georgia O’Keeffe, Edward Hopper, Impressionism, Robert Bateman, Group of Seven, Native Art, Asian Art, Ancient Greek  & Roman, Ancient Egyptian, etc.

Printmaking & Card Design Workshop – in this one day workshop you learn basic printmaking so you can duplicate your image for card designs and fine art prints.  We’ll also cover some basic card design in watercolours, acrylic, collage & mixed media.  A great workshop for creating unique, personalized Christmas and holiday cards.  This workshop is for all skill levels.
