Happy New Year! If you missed my prior post, today is Day 1 of my 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge.
This year I have decided to create small Paint Party studies and fine art paintings and studies exploring new techniques or ideas. This way I will be adding new Paint Party paintings to my library and creating new fine art paintings and studies for larger works. Since I have new Paint Party events to add to my events calendar for the new year, I decided to start with some new Paint Party paintings.
Day 1: “Stormy Winter”, Acrylic on Canvas, 9″x12″
$50 (CAD) and FREE shipping in Canada and U.S.
For the month of January 2018, all 9″x12″ Paint Party studies will be on sale for $50 with free shipping within Canada and the U.S.A. Contact Wendy for shipping cost to other countries.
A few years ago I started doing a 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge in January and it is a great way to start out my year. However, because I have gotten so busy with Paint Parties and other events, it has become even more challenging to find the time to get a new painting completed each day, photograph it and get it posted on my blog and social media. This year I have decided to include small Paint Party studies with my fine art paintings/studies. This way I will come up with some new Paint Party paintings for my library and create new fine art paintings and studies for larger works.
I always have a special sale during the month of January as I create the new paintings, and because I have a growing collection of Paint Party duplicate paintings, I will be having a special Paint Party Painting sale of 16″x20″ paintings too, so follow me on facebook and my blog for all the details.
My new 2017 Christmas cards and 2018 are available in the website’s online store. I will also be bringing some to our December Paint Parties, but there are limited quantities.
Every year, I have fun choosing which images to use for each month of the calendar. You can see all of the months in the online store. For the month of December, shipping is FREE for the 2018 Calendar, and if you want to send as a gift let me know and a personalized note can be added, or one of the Christmas cards with a note from you!
The new Christmas cards for 2017, feature “François” and “Happy Pig”. You can view the inside and back of the cards online in the art store, or by clicking on the images of the calendar and cards to go directly to the page.
The original 12″x12″ oil painting of “Happy Pig” was sold at Small Feats, in April of this year at the Niagara Artists Centre (NAC), but the 6″x6″ study, featured on the card, is still available, and the 12″x12″ original of “Francois” as well as the 6″x6″ study, which is quite surprising because usually my rooster and hen paintings sell quickly.
My plan for 2018 is to have two fundraiser Paint Parties each month: one regular Fundraiser Paint Party, and one Paint Your Pet Fundraiser which benefit animal welfare organizations. For 2017, fundraisers that benefited from my Paint Parties were:
Niagara Dog Rescue Paint Party at the Boathouse
- The Arts in Medicine program at the Walker Family Cancer Centre
- Welland Humane Society
- Steele St. School
- Carter’s Forever Rescue
- Niagara Dog Rescue
- Beamsville 4Paw Rescue
- The Erland Lee Museum
- Lincoln County Humane Society
I want to thank all who came out for fun nights with friends and family, while supporting such worthwhile organizations. Although the organizations I helped last year plan on scheduling more events and a few new organizations have dates scheduled, I will have some dates available for new non-profit organizations, so please contact me or forward my information to worthwhile organizations who may be interested.
Paint Your Pet Paint Party at Moku’s
Arts in Medicine Paint Party at St.Louis Bar & Grill
Paint Your Pet Paint Party at Gord’s Place to benefit LCHS
I will be participating in the the Heirlooms Artisan Market again this year, Sat. June 17th from 10am to 5pm. Now celebrating its 6th year, the Heirlooms Artisan Market, is located at Vemeer’s Garden Centre . This year they are hosting 65+ local artisans and craftspeople that exclusively produce high quality handmade goods.
Heirlooms is the summer market where you get to see the unexpected, the career artisans, and the trend influencers all in one place! The venue is a very popular destination in the Niagara region, full of beauty and fragrant blooms.
This market is not to be missed! Take a break from shopping to enjoy a snack or a meal from our food vendors in the gardens while live music fills the summer air. A great event for everyone all day long!
Be one of the first 90 people in attendance to receive our coveted Heirlooms swag bag! Please bring a toonie or canned food donations for our charitable organization Pelham Cares to qualify.
I will also have a draw for a Paint Party painting and gift certificate package, so stop by my booth in the greenhouse to say Hi and enter the draw to win!
