30 Paintings in 30 Days: Day 6 “Violet Flame”

Today’s 30 Paintings in 30 Days painting, “Violet Flame”, is painted on canvas, and the painting wraps around the canvas, so no need to frame, but would look great in a floating frame.

30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge 2019

30_in_30_painting_challenge2015A number of  years ago I started doing a 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge in January and it is a great way to start out my year.  However, because this year I have an especially busy January with Paint Your Pet fundraisers, Paint Parties, and catching up with record keeping, it will be even more challenging to find the time to get a new painting completed each day, photograph it and get it posted on my blog and social media.  This year I have decided to create small Acrylic Paint Pouring paintings, using different techniques and surfaces each day.  Each day I will post the paintings, starting Jan. 2nd, so follow my blog and Facebook: My Artist Facebook page and Studio Facebook page.   They will be on sale for a special price for the month of January.

paint-pouring-malowanyAlso, I have another Acrylic Paint Pouring art workshop scheduled for January 12 at my studio, so if you want to learn some of the techniques I will be using, register on the event page.  Spot have already been taken and seating is limited, so register soon!

My End of the Year Paint Party Painting sale of 16″x20″ paintings continues through January.  All paintings are only $50 and free shipping with $100 or more purchase in Canada & U.S., and of course no shipping charges if you are picking up your purchase at the studio.

End of the Year Paint Party Painting Sale!

northern-lights-paint -party-painting-malowany

Nothern Lights

I have a large number of Paint Party paintings I have created for my Paint Parties over the last few years, and am always creating new one. At each Paint Party I create a duplicate painting as I walk guests, step-by-step to create their own versions. Because I have done so many paint nights, private paint parties, and other paint events, I have a large collection of duplicate paintings. These are unique originals of my Paint Party paintings.

I am cleaning and organizing the studio for the new year, and decided to have an End of the Year Paint Party painting sale to make room for new paintings. Each one will be a slight variation, and are now for sale in the online art store for only $50 each! If see one in the Paint Party library you don’t see in the Art Store you would like, let me know, and I can add it.  Shipping is $15 across Canada and the $20 in the U.S., and if you purchase $100 or more, shipping is free.  If you are in another country, contact me for shipping rates.  If it is a gift, let me know and we can include a personalized card too!

Customer Appreciation Paint Your Pet Fundraiser Party

So I have been doing Paint Your Pet fundraisers for a number of years now and have helped many local animal welfare organizations, such as Welland Humane Society, B.A.R.K., Beamsville 4Paw Rescue, Lincoln County Humane Society, Dreamers Dog Sanctuary, Black Goat Farm & Sanctuary, and more!  The owner of the new Carniore’s Cupboard suggested doing a fundraiser here to help our rescue animals.  After getting a vet bill for over $700, we decided to host it as a customer appreciation fundraiser.  We only have room for 16-18 people attending, but will keep the ticket price at $50, and also have delicious vegan/vegetarian snacks.  We have beverages available, but guests are welcome to bring a favourite beverage, if they wish. We are 10-15 minutes from Welland and Port Colborne, and 30 minutes from St. Catharines and Niagara Falls! No experience required!

You need to send Artist/Instructor, Wendy Malowany your photos via email and we’ll make a light rough sketch of the composition and get eye placement and proportion drawn on your canvas.  Then at the Paint Party Wendy will walk you through the painting demonstrating and assisting you step-by-step, but allowing you to add your own creativity too. A creative way to get together to relax and have fun!

Ticket price includes your canvas and all materials you need to create your own Pet Portrait masterpiece!  We provide aprons, but our non-toxic paint can stain some fabrics so don’t wear your brand new outfit.

Depending on weather, we will let guests meet some of our rescue animals. We have a pot belly pig, a Nubian goat, dog, cats, horses, our chicken retirement home of 4 roosters and 11 hens, and some other wildlife that find refuge on the property.

Pet Portrait photo requirements:
Send several photos via email that have a good range of lights and darks. Choose clear photos that show your pet’s eyes and expressions you like which capture his/her personality. Close up head shots at your pet’s eye level are better than taking the photo looking down at your pet, and not so close that noses appear bigger than they are. A little background around pet is fine as I will crop to the proportions of the canvas, but the pet should take up approx. 3/4’s of the photo. High resolution of 300 dpi is good, but if you aren’t sure, email the photos and we’ll let you know if the resolution is good.  Send your photos right after you register and purchase your ticket by replying to the confirmation email or email  to:  wendy [at] wendymalowany.com.  Remember to include name of person who purchased the tickets, the event date and location.  Contact Wendy with questions.

Seats will be limited to accommodate the individual attention we’ll be giving each person and tickets sales will close prior to the date to give us time to draw your sketch on your canvas.  Get your tickets now since we expect the event to sell out fast!

Port Colborne Art Crawl 2018 & Fundraiser Paint Party

CaptureI will be a participating artist at the Port Colborne Art Crawl again this year.  Some of my artwork will be in the Canalside Kitchen Store on West St. and I will be having a Fundraiser Paint Party at the new Breakwall Brewing Company on Clarence St., helping to raise funds for scholarships for the students at the local high schools, Port Colborne High School and Lakeshore High School

port-dalhousie-sunset-painting-malowanyThe Paint Party has a Port theme, “Marina Sunset”, with lots of room for variation!  Even if you have never painted before, this will be a fun afternoon, as I will be walking you through, step-by-step.  Experienced Artists are welcome to join in the fun, and I don’t mind at all if you take your painting in a completely different direction. Get your tickets on our website now, limited seating!

Breakwall-logoCome on out and and enjoy some wonderful craft beer, great food, and  bring your friends and family.  The Paint Party is from 2-4pm, so you can come for lunch, then paint, order food and drinks while you paint, or stay after for a meal.  They have a great variety of food to appeal to everyone, and I love their spicy bean burger!  9 O’Clock Whistle, is my favourite beer, but the first time we went we ordered a Flight so we could sample several, and all were very good. (Breakwall Brewing Co. menu)

This year’s Art Crawl features  live music, demonstrations, activities, local artists & exhibitors.  There’s something for everyone, and runs from 2p.m. – 11p.m.

A new addition this year is a children’s area with a bounce house, face-painting, interactive activities, a scavenger hunt for all age, and more.

Musicians performing include Katey Gatta, Brandon Ruch, Mark Clout, Christopher Madronich (Gravely James), Niels Pedersen, Karen Bonnisteel, Michael Metzger, Sing Niagara women’s chorus, Three For All women’s trio, folk duo Probable Fog and The Hard Rock Hooligans.

Also, starting at 7pm, Art Battle will begin, when artists will battle the clock as they work to create a masterpiece in 20 minutes.
