Jan. 2016 Daily Paintings: Day 3 “Piper”

Today’s painting is “Piper”. Piper is a ruffed white lemur who lives at Ringtail Ranch and Rescue, near us in Wainfleet, ON, Canada.

Ringtail Ranch is a non-profit organization which provides a safe home for an abundance of wildlife. The animals have free range of their property and often follow Mark and Joni around. They have no need, nor probably time, for television. The animals provide plenty of entertainment just watching what amuses them.

One of my “mini-themes” for the Jan. 2016 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge is the Ringtail Ranch animals. I will be donating 20% of all sales of those paintings to Ringtail Ranch. So have fun bidding for a good cause, or share with someone you know who would like to win “Piper”.

Note: Framing can be added so the painting is ready to hang, for an additional charge depending on frame. And for the Challenge, I will ship within Canada & U.S. for free or include a wood frame if you purchase a “30 Day Painting” during January, 2015 using “Buy Now” or your winning bid is over $100.

“Spring Starling”

We have many starlings here, in fact our son brought home three babies, which we raised and released, when he accidentally destroyed a nest while helping a neighbour with yard work. This one was under our bird feeder near some cranberries we threw out to the birds.

Jan. Daily Paintings Day 24: Benjamin

My Day 24 painting for the 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge is “Benjamin”. Benjamin is our youngest daughter’s dwarf lion head rabbit, named after the Beatrix Potter character.  He and our daughter have had fun and won awards in 4-H rabbit showings for the last several years.

Jan. Daily Painting Day 10: “Fair Sheep”

My Day 10 painting for the 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge is “Fair Sheep”. This beautiful black-faced sheep reminds me of the kind I would often see in Scotland.  I saw her at the Norfolk Fair in Simcoe, ON while there with my youngest daughter during goat showing.

Jan. Daily Painting Day 6: “Little Stinker”

My Day 6 painting for the 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge is “Little Stinker”.  This little fellow visits regularly to get a meal from the barn cat’s bowl.  We use an old hubcap for her bowl because the wildlife have a harder time stealing the bowl.  Our skunk friend manages to drag the bowl closer to his escape route, should he need to leave in a hurry. Our daughters named the painting because of the nature and personality of our little skunk friend.
