Works in Progress for Sale at SportsFest ArtFest

I’ve been working on a few new paintings I’ll be finishing up for SportsFest ArtFest this weekend at the Roselawn Centre in Port Colborne.

ArtFest was a new addition to Port Colborne’s SportsFest mid-winter carnival 2013, to provide a fun & cultural option for Niagara residents looking for non-sport activities.  Due to the success and large number of attendees last year, we are looking forward to ArtFest 2014, which will be conveniently located in the historic Roselawn Centre and organized by the South Niagara Artists.

ArtFest is a juried Fine Art show and sale of original art with amazing local artists from across the Niagara region. Come out to see fantastic art, support your local Niagara artists, and add to your art collection. There will be a wide variety or styles, media and price ranges appealing to everyone.

We will have some refreshments, demonstrations and a book reading corner.

We get a lot of wildlife here on our 8 acre hobby farm in Wainfleet Ontario, which often become the inspiration for my paintings.

Some of the participating artists  and I will be donating 25% of the sales of any of their “Animal artwork” to the Niagara Wildlife Haven.  Kathleen Thorsen and I held a art show in December, 2013, to benefit Niagara Wildlife Haven but due to extremely poor weather that weekend they didn’t raise as much as they had hoped to, so the other artists and I are using this event to help raise more funds.

Artists will be providing food and beverages at a reasonable price, with any profits going to Niagara Wildlife Haven:  hot soup, salads, brownies and other delicious snacks, and beverages.

  1. Love the cardinal pic Wendy. It’s beautiful

    • Thanks, Cathy! I just finished her up later this afternoon after taking the photo, except for signing. I’ll do that tomorrow and take a final picture. I had a fox paint that sold, so I will be working on finishing “Snow Fox” tomorrow. 🙂

  2. If you decide to do another show for this great cause I am interested in participating if you would like more artists involved. You can see some of my work at my Facebook page ‘dawksart’. Thank you for what you are doing Wendy.

    • Hi Debra,
I’d be happy to include you. I just “liked” you on Facebook and if you’d like to connect with me there, we can keep in touch regarding future art shows benefiting the animals.
