Wow, last painting for the 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge! My Day 30 painting is “Deuce”.  I saved Deuce for the last because I wasn’t sure if I would be able to paint him.  Deuce was our beloved little beagle who we had for almost 13 years.  He would have been 13 years old this January, 2015, but died just before Christmas.  As he got older he got quite white in the face and we jokingly said he was turning into an albino beagle.  The reference photo I chose for this painting, however, was a picture I took of Deuce in his prime.  He was about 3 or 4 years old.  He was less than a year older than our youngest daughter, and only 10 months old when we got him.  He immigrated to Canada with us, and loved life on the farm.  He will be greatly missed, but not forgotten.

I will be posting a collage of all 30 Daily Paintings for the January 2015 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge, and be printing them in a book. This was a fun, and challenging start to the new year.  Follow my blog and sign up for my newsletter to see more of my new work and upcoming events.
