Monday and Tuesday I was leading two of my Paint Parties, so I was still painting and am counting those days in my 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge since not only was I painting those days, but leading groups of people to create their paintings too! I may put up an auction of my Paint Party paintings soon, so follow my posts and facebook pages, if you are interested.
Monday night we had a great time at Mokus Restaurant in Fonthill. Mokus is a fantastic Hawaiian restaurant, so all of the paintings I am creating and leading have a Hawaiian theme too. Monday’s painting was “Beneath the Coconut Tree”. Everyone had a great time! Mokus has a great variety of Hawaiian foods to appeal to everyone and has tropical drink specials on the night of our Paint Parties. They play Hawaiian music and with the power of the internet, even broadcast a Hawaiian radio station in the restaurant.
I always take pictures as we progress and post them on my Art Studio Facebook photo albums.
If you live near the Pelham/Welland area, our next Paint Party at Mokus is on Monday Feb. 6 and we’ll be painting “Sunbathing Sea Turtle”. Tickets can be purchased on the Paint Party’s event page of my website, but are selling fast so get them soon so you are not disappointed!
Last night I was leading my Paint Party at Julia’s Bistro and Catering in Dunnville, ON. So I moved from the Hawaiian theme to an Italian theme. Julia’s offers great Italian food, as well as more Canadian fare, like her top-rated hamburger, which will be featured on the “Burger Wars”. They are coming to her restaurant to film on Jan. 28 and 29.
Last night our painting was “Italian Vista”. This painting is fun because there is a lot of room for variation in colour mixing, what is included, or left out. It does have more steps than a lot of my paintings, but everyone did great and had a fun time! Sorry that two of our guests had to miss the fun due to illness, but I’ll look forward to seeing them at the next event.

The great thing about my Paint Parties is you don’t need any experience. I walk everyone through step-by-step, but all the paintings are different in the way people mix colours, create brushstrokes, or add their own creativity.
